How it works
Area = length × width
For L-shaped rooms, split the space into rectangles, calculate each one and add them up. 1 m² = 10.764 ft² and 1 ft² = 0.0929 m².
When buying flooring or tiles, add 5–10% for cuts and waste.
Enter the length and width of a rectangular room or area. The calculator gives the area in square feet and square metres, and the cost if you add a price per unit — handy for flooring, paint and carpets.

Measure length and width in feet and multiply them. A 12 ft by 10 ft room is 120 square feet.
Multiply by 10.764. For example, 20 m² is about 215 ft².
